Jalia Ventures provides expansion capital to companies owned by entrepreneurs of color that have a social/sustainable mission inherent in their business model. Jalia Ventures is supported by Josh Mailman and Serious Change LP, a global impact investing fund with more than 50 portfolio companies.

We invest in early-stage companies that are aligned with one or more of the following impact areas:

Underserved US Communities – Offering products, services, and living wage job opportunities to improve the well-being of Low and Moderate Income (LMI) communities and other traditionally marginalized groups in the US.

Green Manufacturing – Promoting sustainable manufacturing through product and process design.

Sustainable Food & Distribution – Fostering food production, consumption and trading practices which promote a sustainable vision for the future.

Base of the Pyramid – Providing health, education, clean energy, financial services, and job opportunities to lower and middle income people in developing countries.

Clean Technology – Innovating disruptive recycling, renewable energy, and green technology solutions that are scalable and will improve and/or change existing systems.

Mission-Driven Online Platforms – Companies using web-based business models to facilitate the creation of affordable software solutions and online eco-systems that distribute knowledge, mobilize people to take action, and encourage positive behavior change.
